YOUTH EMERGE

Ailau Perez

Youth Pastor/Speaker

Youth Emerge was a Ministry born during the Pandemic. Looking back at where God has brought myself and the ministry, I can only think of one Verse that best describes the work the Holy Spirit began in 2020, almost 3 years ago today.

1 Corinthians 15:10

“But by the grace of God I am what I am, and His grace toward me was not in vain; but I labored more abundantly than they all, yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.”

My name is Ailau Perez and I am the Youth Minister at His Highest Praise international

Honolulu. The start of my journey with God began at a little School in Kailua called Redemption Academy. I attended a spiritual emphasis camp led by our founder Adrian Yuen and his sister Yvonne Lopez. I remember sitting around in a circle of chairs listening to our Pastor and Dean of the school speak about Jesus. I didn’t know it then, but the conviction of the Holy Spirit began to stir my Spirit toward Christ. Not long after that I went to my first Youth Expressions Friday night service led by Pastors Jared and Rachel Nihi. The teachings I received, and the moments spent with my face down on the floor after spending hours in worship have shaped my life and sustained my belief that Jesus Christ has set me free. Who would have thought that the same Kolohe boy who

spoke out of turn at a volume not pleasing to the ears. Would one day be commissioned by God to take over the Youth Ministry. Although my parents are no longer my Youth Pastors, many of the ideas and creativity God has given me in leading the Youth today have been built from the prayers, teachings and love under their leadership. This journey with God has been nothing short of 1 Corinthians 15:10 “Yet not I, but the grace of God with me.”

Jeremiah 29:11

11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.

Romans 13:8

“Owe no one anything, except to love each other, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law."

The Next Gen

They say that the youth are the future, but what if I told you that the future is now?

The Next Gen is here, and they’re making moves that would make any seasoned veteran proud. From raising up their peers to taking the reins in their communities, these young leaders are proving that age is just a number.

Let’s celebrate the power of the youth! Share in the comments how you’ve seen God use the next generation to make a difference.
